California-born woodwind player Jordan Ferrin is a musician, speaker, composer, educator, and researcher. After traveling the world as a cruise ship musician, he formed Jordan Ferrin and the Storyband, a project that combines melodic-groove jazz and live storytelling. The debut album Tales of Transcendence was released in March 2022, accompanied by the Storyband Travel Blog, dedicated to the full stories behind every piece of music recorded by the group. As a motivational speaker, Jordan has presented “Your Meaning in Life: The Never-Ending Journey” for the 9th annual conference of Wellness Together, Savanna High School in Anaheim CA, and The Aurora Theater in Long Beach CA. Through music, speaking, teaching, and the lessons of his travels, Jordan’s mission is to stand for meaning in life, in all its moments. To this end he helps others cultivate a positive, compassionate, and loving relation to self and reality through awareness, mindfulness, and wisdom development.

He has performed with Grammy-nominated vocalist Josie James, The Marlonius Jazz Orchestra, vocalist Frieda Lee, the Pandemonium Big Band, and vocalist Anthony Bernasconi. He is a teaching artist with the Symphonic Jazz Orchestra and an Arts Assistant for the Anaheim and Laguna Beach school districts. He is also a published researcher whose work can be found in the peer-reviewed journal Jazz Education in Research and Practice, Vol. 4. and Vol. 7.
